Week 4

So, we are done with Week 4. This week I missed my work out on Tuesday. I find it difficult to motivate myself for the daily workouts everyday. Although I find that once I do, it feels much enjoyable and not that difficult than what I think about it before actually doing it.
Jump rope: It is easy for the first 100-150 jumps and needs some effort to reach 300. After that I just keep on jumping and am able to reach the target jumps without problem. So, happy with it. Still struggling with push ups although I'm much better with it than before and only struggle in the last set.
Food is good...although indulgence #1 has been permitted, I do not feel of breaking the routine as I fear I might break the habit which I got into with great amount of effort. I don't know if I will indulge this time. Might keep it for that day when I would really crave for something.
Rest: I am able to stick to this to the T. Getting sufficient amount of rest.
Fruits: The only thing about PCP that I always look forward to..I hope it does not vanish from the menu just like the dinner carbs in any of the coming weeks..
Sweat: I love it when I sweat during workout. It gives me a great feeling of achievement and satisfaction.

Almost 1/3rd done and starting to enjoy it. I pray for more strength to stick to the PCP routine in the coming weeks.

Week 2: mini milestone on the way...

So, week two is done. Another small milestone in this roller coaster ride achieved. When I look back at week one and compare it with the second week:

Workout: The exercise part was much more demanding. Time to complete the daily workouts was much more (twice for me). It took a lot of will power to mentally prepare for the daily hard work and get through it. I know its going to be more demanding and hope I can get mentally and physically strong to handle it.

Diet: Thanks to my better half, I do not need to worry at all about shopping, cooking, thinking of new recipes everyday. I just need to sit and eat the well prepared food, bentos. I can't imagine taking care of the diet on my own along with the exercise and all the workout. Hats off to all the fellow PCPer's who do this on their own ....

Rest: Completely changed my sleep time. I go to bed as early as 10:00pm and get up at around 5:00am. Feels good as my usual time table was roughly 1:00am to 7:30am and I used to feel I need more rest. I will continue with this timetable and be an early riser as I feel it keeps me more fresh through out the day and I also get a feeling of well-being.

Life: August starts the festivity period in India....Celebrated Raksha Bandhan yesterday with the Indian friends and had a lot of fun and at the same time managed to stay away from the food sticking to my home cooked bento. Independence day (15 August), Janmashtami and Ganesh Chaturthi are a few festivals lined up ahead so fun and celebration time here.

Also it's time to post the photo's this week......!!!

Excited to see what changes does the third week bring's to our daily diet and workout plans....fingers crossed !!!

Week 1: (Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going - Jim Rohn)

Hello PCPers,

Completed the first week of PCP. To sum up the complete week, I can say:
1. Diet: Had no problem with the diet. Was able to eat half of the normal stuff and survive without any difficulty. The challenge with diet start today so looking forward to it. Cannot imagine cooking food without any salt. How will I eat it :(
2. Exercise: Squat, lunges, sit-up, leg-up were fine. Push-ups made me feel so weak. I could hardly complete the sets on day 1. Day 2,  I was unable to do a single repetition. So I just completed the sets in the evening. I need to work on this a lot.
3. Rope Jump: I never did a rope jump in my life so got a rope a few days before I started PCP and surprisingly I got comfortable with it in a couple of days. I can now jump around 60-70 jumps non-stop so quite happy with it.
Changes: I say this with no pride that I lost 2.5 kg in the first week. Starting with 84 kg, I stand at 81.5 at the end of week one. I was very happy with this result until I saw the mail that Patrick send out this weekend.
Challenges: Could not locate a proper pull-up bar near my area. I would like to ask your advice if we can get a portable bar which can be set up in the house. The Japanese houses are pretty delicate and I do not want to buy something which  would damage the walls or door and I cannot use. Any advice would be highly appreciated.

Summary: Week 1 ..so far so good......Week 2..Here I come !!!

Congratulations all for successfully completing Week 1 and all the best for week 2.

Check out the dull and fatty snaps pre-PCP on my Flickr account. Hope you will notice improvements in the days to come.
